We are excited to offer Texas teachers editable pacing guide templates to help plan your scope and sequence for the school year. These guides provide a clear starting point and give you the flexibility to adjust content and scheduling to meet the needs of your students and classroom.

What’s Included

Each pacing guide includes:

  • Unit names

  • Experience playlists (daily lessons that follow the 5E model)

  • TEKS covered

  • Bolded priority experiences recommended for focused instruction

Each 5E model experience is a complete daily lesson. It includes all five instructional phases: engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate. These experiences are designed to be taught over one to two 45-minute class periods, depending on your pacing and classroom flow.

We have bolded the experiences that we recommend as high priority. These are aligned with key TEKS and designed to support high-impact instruction. You can still use the pacing guides to select the experiences that best match your instructional goals. Since the templates are editable, you can add, delete, or rearrange experiences to fit your yearly curriculum plan.

How to Use the Template

  1. Open the pacing guide for your course from the list below.

  2. Click "File" and then "Make a copy" to create your own editable version.

  3. Add or remove units or experiences as needed to fit your instruction.

  4. Use the blank columns to add dates, six-week periods, or planning notes.

  5. Save or share your customized pacing guide as needed.
