One of the most requested features we have had this past year has just been released: Co-Teaching!
Google, Canvas, and Schoology
If you imported classes from Google or Canvas that have co-teachers in them, you can sync your classes and the co-teachers will be added. Just go to the class roster, can click the sync button. Regularly syncing your external rostering systems, like Google Classroom or Canvas, can prevent data or roster discrepancies and ensure co-teachers are properly reflected in Exploros. Additionally, if your district uses Schoology, follow the same process: add the co-teacher in Schoology and sync your roster in Exploros.
ClassLink
For districts using ClassLink, co-teachers must be added directly through ClassLink as manual edits are not allowed in ClassLink-managed classes.
Manually adding a Co-Teacher
If you want to manually invite someone to co-teach a class, here's how:
1. The lead teacher (the teacher who created the class) can provide the class code to another teacher (co-teacher).
2. The co-teacher can sign up or log into Exploros. Once in the Exploros app, go to Profile > Co-teach a class > Enter the class code and join the class.
NOTE: You cannot co-teach a class with a teacher in a different district (both teachers must be in the same district with valid school email domains).
3. Once added, the class roster will show both teachers.
Co-teaching
Once a co-teacher joins a class, he or she will be able to see all learning experiences assigned after becoming part of the class. (If there are active learning experiences at the time someone becomes a co-teacher, the co-teacher will not see them. They will only see experiences after becoming part of the class.) Additionally, ensure that a co-teacher has assigned relevant teaching activities or entered data in the class to be visible in data reports.
Co-teachers have all the same functionality as the lead teacher with one exception β the lead teacher can remove a co-teacher from the class roster. A co-teacher cannot remove the lead teacher.
Reporting
Both lead teachers and co-teachers will see reporting. However, the listed teacher for any given class in reports will be the lead teacher and co-teachers only see data from the experiences that were assigned after the co-teacher became part of the class.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Missing Class Codes
If you cannot find the class code to share with a co-teacher:
Check if your district uses ClassLink for rostering. Class codes and manual roster edits are disabled for ClassLink-managed classes.
