How to license and unlicensed classes, and move seat licenses from one campus to another

When a district or campus purchases a subscription to a curriculum plan, the purchase is based on a specific number of seats per plan per campus (e.g. Wordly Wise i3000, 115 student seats, Washington Middle School).

Technically, the seats are allocated to the campus, not to a specific teacher. Every teacher on the campus that has access to the curriculum can use the seats. Once a teacher chooses to license a class for the specific program, all the students in that class get a seat license.

With your Exploros administrator account, you can see and manage seat licenses purchased for your campus or district.

Accessing Seat Management in the Exploros App

By default, when you log into Exploros and you have administrator privileges, you are taken to the Admin Console for your campus or district. Select Users and Seats and then click on the curriculum program of interest (e.g. Wordly Wise i3000, etc) to manage seat licenses.

Campus Admin

As a campus administrator, you can see all the classes that are licensed. You have the ability to view the students in any particular class and license or unlicense a class. If you unlicense a class, you will "free up" student seat licenses provided the students in the class are not on the roster of another licensed class.

District Admin

As a district administrator, you can see the overall seat usage per campus, re-allocate seats between the different campuses, and drill down to the campus level seat view.

Campus Seat View

See the Campus Admin section above for information on how to see students in a class and license or unlicense classes.

Re-allocating Seats (Moving Seats from One Campus to Another)

On the right-hand side of a district administrator view, you will see an Edit button. Click this button to view the seat allocation per campus. You can modify the allocation to move seats from a campus with extra seats to a campus that is short on seats. Note that in order to reallocate seats, the sum of th seats needs to match the number of seats you have purchased, as shown on screen.

All programs currently using seat counts in Exploros are EPS programs (e.g. Wordly Wise i3000, iSPIRE, etc). If you have support questions, please reach out to the EPS support team directly by calling 1.800.225.5750 Option 5 or sending an email to: techsupport.eps@schoolspecialty.com
